What thousands of psychic readings inside the Akashic Records have shown me.

If you’re wondering what questions to ask the Akashic Records, I could hand you a list. There are hundreds of those lists online already. After thousands of psychic readings inside individual Akashic Records, though, I can tell you that the list is rarely where the most interesting information begins. Your life is.

The relationships that somehow keep ending in the same place. The career changes that look completely unrelated until you notice the role you play in every one of them. The amount of money you can make but never seem to hold. The fear that has been with you since childhood without an experience that explains it. The person you knew for six months who somehow altered the trajectory of the next six years.

These are the things I want to know when I open your Records.

Because when we talk about soul purpose, soul assignments, karmic patterns and soul contracts, we aren’t talking about concepts that exist separately from your ordinary life. They are being lived through it.

Your life gives us the story arcs. The Records give us another vantage point from which to understand them. So use the questions below as a backdrop rather than a script. Look at your actual life. Notice what repeats, what doesn’t make sense, what you can understand intellectually but still can’t seem to change, and where completely different people or circumstances somehow keep producing the same experience.

Then bring the details. After thousands of readings, I can tell you: the details are where things get interesting.

What Are the Best Questions to Ask the Akashic Records?

The best questions give us somewhere to explore rather than requiring the Records to squeeze an enormous story into a yes or no. You can ask about love, relationships, family, money, work, soul purpose, spiritual gifts, repeating patterns, another lifetime, a decision you’re facing or something happening in your life that you simply cannot explain.

Here are the questions underneath the stories that I then look at:

  • What is important for you to understand about this relationship?

  • Is there a soul contract or karmic pattern active here?

  • What is this repeating experience showing you?

  • What am you being prepared for in this season of my life?

  • What is important for you to understand about your relationship with money?

  • Is there something from another lifetime influencing what you are experiencing now?

  • What are you not seeing about this decision?

  • What is ready to be completed?

  • What do you already know that you haven’t allowed yourself to see?

What Should I Ask the Akashic Records About Love and Relationships?

Relationships are one of the most common reasons people come to the Records. You can absolutely ask about someone you love, why you met, what the connection means, whether there is a soul contract between you or what is happening in the relationship now.

But give me the story too. Maybe you’ve had seven significant relationships. The people were completely different. You met them at different ages, under different circumstances, and initially the relationships didn’t resemble one another at all.

But eventually every one arrived at essentially the same place. You became the person trying to create more intimacy. The other person began pulling away. You worked harder to repair the distance. Eventually you were exhausted, they left, or you finally did. Bring me that. Now I’m not looking only at relationship number seven.

I can begin asking: What is repeating through these relationships? Where did this story arc begin? Is there a soul assignment or karmic pattern being expressed through these different partners? What position do you repeatedly occupy inside the relationship? What has already been learned or completed? Why do the people change while your experience inside the relationship remains remarkably similar?

Those questions give us considerably more territory than simply asking:

“Will this relationship work?”

And for the record... after thousands of readings, one thing I pay very close attention to is when the people change but the ending doesn’t. Seven different partners may look like seven separate relationship problems from inside your life. Inside the Records, I may discover that we are looking at one story arc that has simply changed actors seven times.

Can I Ask the Akashic Records About a Soulmate?

Yes, relationships with other people can absolutely be explored inside your Records.

What I’m most interested in is the relationship as it intersects with you: why this person has entered your experience, what is being activated between you, what you are learning or completing through the relationship, what agreements may exist and what is important for you to understand now.

One distinction I have found enormously important is this: Significant does not necessarily mean permanent. A relationship can feel karmic because it is. You may experience extraordinary recognition, synchronicities, psychic connection or the unmistakable feeling that you were supposed to meet. That does not automatically tell us how long the relationship is meant to remain in its current form. Sometimes what keeps someone attached for years is the belief that because a relationship felt enormous, there must still be something they are supposed to do with it.

One of the questions I might explore is: What is complete here that I am still treating as unfinished?

Can the Akashic Records Tell Me My Soul Purpose?

Yes, but this is another place where I would encourage you to bring more than the question:

“What is my soul purpose?” Your purpose is not necessarily a job title sitting inside the Records waiting for someone to retrieve it. When I look at soul purpose, I am interested in the lessons you came here to learn, the capacities you are developing, the karmic patterns you are completing and the soul assignments you are living through the actual tapestry of this life. So tell me about your life.

Maybe you’ve had four completely different careers, but in every one of them you somehow became the person everyone came to privately when they were falling apart. You were hired to do accounting. Then you worked in real estate. Then you opened a store. Now you manage a team. On paper, there is no obvious connection. But in every environment, people find you. They close your office door and tell you what is happening in their marriage. They call you after hours when their mother dies. They tell you things they say they have never told anyone else. That is something I want to look at. What capacity has your life been developing? Why has this role followed you through seemingly unrelated environments? What have you dismissed as “just something people do with me” that may actually be part of a much larger story?

And for the record... Soul purpose often leaves fingerprints all over an existing life long before someone recognizes what they are looking at. Sometimes we aren’t searching the Records for a purpose you haven’t found yet. We are looking at the tapestry of your life and suddenly seeing the architecture that was there all along.

What Should I Ask the Akashic Records About Career or Business?

Career questions can be practical. Should I take this opportunity? Why has my business stopped growing? Why do I keep wanting to leave a career I worked so hard to build? Why have I lost interest in something I once felt certain I was meant to do? Again, give me the details.

Perhaps every time your business reaches a particular level of visibility, you suddenly become overwhelmed and disappear for three months. Maybe you’ve spent twenty years becoming excellent at your profession, yet every few years you blow the entire thing up and start over. Maybe opportunities arrive easily until someone asks you to charge more money, lead publicly or become the person whose name is on the door. Those are not incidental details. They give us somewhere to look.

We might explore what your work represents to you, what identity is attached to it, what an old version of success required from you, whether an assignment has completed, or whether the next expression of your work requires a capacity your life has been developing somewhere else entirely.

What Can I Ask the Akashic Records About Money and Abundance?

Money inside the Records is rarely just about money. It can be connected to safety, family, belonging, receiving, visibility, responsibility and what you learned very early about what happens to people who have more. Instead of only asking: “What is blocking my abundance?” Tell me what your relationship with money actually looks like. Maybe you make three times what you made ten years ago, but somehow your bank account always returns to roughly the same number. You receive a large amount of money and within months something happens: the car needs replacing, someone in your family needs help, an unexpected expense appears, or you suddenly spend in ways you ordinarily wouldn’t. You are demonstrably capable of making money. But you cannot seem to keep substantially more of it. Bring me that.

Now I want to know what your system learned about having money. Who had it in your original family? What happened to them because they had it? Who needed them? How were wealthy people talked about? What would change in your relationships if you suddenly had ten times more than everyone around you?

And for the record... Receiving money and feeling safe having money can be two entirely different relationships. When someone repeatedly creates more but cannot seem to remain there, I become very interested in what their life has taught them happens after the money arrives.

Can the Akashic Records Show Me Repeating Patterns or Karma?

This is some of my favorite work to do inside the Records. Especially when someone tells me: “I already know why I do this.”

People are extraordinarily self-aware now. You may have been in therapy for years. You know exactly where the pattern began in childhood. You understand your attachment style. You have read the books, journaled about it and can explain the entire thing beautifully. And you’re still doing it. Understanding a pattern and completing it are not necessarily the same thing. So rather than only asking why, I become interested in: Why is this still active now? Is there an agreement operating underneath it? A soul assignment that hasn’t completed? A role you continue occupying? An experience your nervous system keeps recreating because sameness still registers as safety? Have you already learned what the pattern came to teach you but continued living inside the lesson? This is where the story arcs of your existing life become incredibly valuable. Show me where it repeats.

Can I Ask the Akashic Records About Past Lives?

Yes. Past-life information can arise very clearly inside the Records, but I am less interested in another lifetime as spiritual trivia than I am in why it matters to the life you’re living now. Maybe you’ve been terrified of deep water since you were a child, despite never having had a frightening experience with water. Maybe you arrive in a particular country for the first time and experience a level of recognition that makes no rational sense. Maybe you meet someone and immediately have a physical, emotional or psychic response completely disproportionate to the amount of time you’ve known them.

Maybe a particular pattern has no obvious origin anywhere in your present life. Those are places I become curious. If another lifetime comes forward, I want to understand what it is illuminating here.

And for the record... The most interesting question about a past life is rarely: “Who was I?” It is: “Why is this lifetime relevant now?”

Can the Akashic Records Predict the Future?

The Records can show potential timelines, trajectories, relationships, opportunities and what is currently organizing around a person. I also take free will seriously—yours and everyone else’s. So I don’t treat the future as a single immovable page waiting to be read aloud.

If you’re asking about what comes next, I want to look at what is active now, what direction you’re moving, what may be developing, what choices are available and what could alter the trajectory.

Sometimes people want a date. I am often more interested in what stands between you and the thing you’re asking when it will arrive. Those are different questions, and sometimes the second one gives you considerably more power than the first.

Can I Ask Yes-or-No Questions in an Akashic Records Reading?

You can. I don’t believe you need to police your questions before you arrive.

If what you desperately want to know is: “Should I leave?” Tell me that. But I’m probably not going to stop at yes or no. I want to know what happens if you stay. What happens if you leave. Why you’ve arrived at this decision now. What you’re afraid each choice will cost you. What you already know. What you aren’t seeing.

The yes-or-no question isn’t wrong. It may simply be smaller than the information available to us.

What Questions Should I Not Ask the Akashic Records?

I don’t keep a rigid list of forbidden questions. What I can tell you is that information about other people's lives that are not deeply woven into yours will not be in your records. What matters more to me is whether the information we’re seeking is a question that actually helps you understand your own life. Don't get me wrong, people ask me all the time about other people's business - and I do have a way of answering those questions, I am a psychic and I have access to lots of tools and information. The reason I do Akashic Record Readings vs just psychic readings is because they bring transformational change to the client vs just scractching a nosy itch.

I don’t need your questions to sound spiritual. “Why the hell can’t I get over this person?” is perfectly acceptable. So is: “Why do I keep blowing up my life every three years?” Or: “Everything is objectively fine. Why do I want to leave?” Those are real questions. Bring me those.

How Should I Prepare Questions for an Akashic Records Reading?

Before your reading, look for patterns. Where does your life repeat itself? Where does your reaction seem much larger than the thing that happened? What have you understood intellectually but still cannot change? What keeps almost happening? What role do you somehow occupy everywhere you go? What do you desperately want but become uncomfortable whenever you get close to having it? What makes absolutely no sense? What has followed you for years?

Then write down the actual details.

You don’t need to diagnose the soul contract, identify the karmic pattern or figure out what lifetime it came from before you arrive. That's what I'm for and that’s what we’re going into the Records to explore.

After thousands of psychic readings inside individual Akashic Records, this may be the most important thing I can tell you about preparing for one: Don’t worry about finding the perfect question. Find the story you cannot quite explain. Your life is already giving us the material. We’ll open the Records and look at the tapestry from there.

If there is a relationship, repeating pattern, decision, question or piece of your life that you keep circling because you know there is more underneath it than you can currently see, bring it to me.

We’ll begin with the life you’re actually living, open your Akashic Records, and see what the larger story has to show us - we show you with new eyes, that which is already there...

Much love, Michelle
